Humble Hearts
The Humble Hearts program at Sacred Heart Primary School is a special recognition initiative designed to honour students who consistently embody the core values of the school.
This program acknowledges and celebrates those who demonstrate kindness, respect, compassion, and integrity in their daily interactions. Recognition is given during school assemblies, where students who have shown these values in their behaviour and attitude are publicly acknowledged and awarded.
The Humble Hearts program not only reinforces positive behaviour but also encourages all students to strive towards embodying the principles that are central to the school’s mission.
Buddies
Sacred Heart Primary School Buddies program is an initiative designed to foster a sense of community and support among students by pairing older students with younger ones.
In this program, older students take on a mentorship role, providing guidance, friendship, and support to their younger “buddies.” For the younger children, this relationship offers a sense of security and belonging as they navigate the school environment, helping them to build confidence and develop social skills. The older children benefit by developing leadership and communication skills, as well as a sense of responsibility and empathy.
This program not only strengthens the school community but also promotes a culture of care and cooperation across different age groups.
UR Strong
Sacred Heart Primary School isexcited to be a URSTRONG School.
URSTRONG is aimed at fostering positive friendships among our students. This comprehensive
wellbeing initiative equips students with essential skills, language, and self-assurance to
navigate friendships effectively.
URSTRONG provides teachers with a friendship skills curriculum, Friendology 101, that help kids establish and maintain healthy relationships, manage conflict with kindness, and increase their overall resilience. By fostering a common language among students and educators, the program facilitates the identification and resolution of social issues, fostering a more inclusive school environment.
Aligned with our school’s commitment to social-emotional wellbeing and character development, this friendship program complements our existing values.
As we embark on this journey, we encourage ongoing dialogue at home to reinforce the principles learned in Friendology 101. We eagerly anticipate witnessing our students develop into resilient, empowered, and empathetic friends.
