The mission of Sacred Heart Primary School is to develop an educational community, centred in Christ. Sacred Heart is committed to the development of the whole person in a climate where sensitivity and responsibility are developed in a spirit of hope and love.
This philosophy underpins all our teaching and learning programs. We teach Religious Education as the first learning area in our curriculum. Our school is mandated by ACARA’s National Curriculum to provide programs meeting these outcomes.
Founded in 1897 by the Sisters of Our Lady of the Missions, the school continues to embody its motto of Faith, Truth and Loyalty to Gospel Values through a strong focus on academic achievement, pastoral care and Catholic identity.

2025 Highlights
- Strong NAPLAN results – 100% of Year 3 and Year 5 students met or exceeded the National Minimum Standard across Reading, Writing, Spelling, Grammar & Punctuation, and Numeracy, with school means well above national averages in every domain.
- Recognised excellence in STEM – the “Digging Deep: Building Futures” initiative received a CEWA QCE Merit Award, continuing the school’s track record of system, state and national recognition for its STEM Design Process.
- Whole-school Cyber Safety Day, delivered in partnership with ySafe, reinforced digital citizenship for students, staff and families.
- Independent affirmation of school quality through the CEWA QCESR School Review, highlighting strong culture, high-quality leadership, and staff’s deep knowledge of every child.
- Vibrant community and co-curricular life, including City–Country partnerships with Broome and Kalgoorlie, the Spirit of the Arts Festival, Interschool Sporting Carnivals, and sacramental milestones for many students.
- Committed, qualified staff – 14 teaching and 10 non-teaching staff, with the majority holding Bachelor or Masters-level qualifications.
- Overall school attendance of 89.93% in 2025, closely monitored to support student engagement and wellbeing.
